I’m pleased to introduce my new associate, Courtney Brown.
Courtney Brown graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
At the Golden Gate University School of Law, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. Courtney won numerous academic awards for her achievements in writing, research, and evidence.
While attending law school, Courtney volunteered at a San Francisco non-profit housing organization. There she discovered her passion for helping others fight for their housing rights.
For her pro bono work, Courtney received the 2015 PSJD Pro Bono Publico Award Merit Distinction, a national award. In 2016, the Golden Gate University School of Law awarded her the Allan and Muriel Brotsky Pro Bono Award.
After passing the California bar exam, Courtney worked as a Staff Attorney for the Homeless Action Center in Berkeley. She represented low-income clients applying for social security, disability, and other benefits. While helping her clients, she saw their fear and pain about being homeless.
Courtney joined the Law Offices of Mary Catherine Wiederhold to return to tenant law. She is passionate about helping clients. Courtney is eager to fight for tenants with eviction defense and litigation.
